A total of 145 staff from all 5 emergency services applied to take part in the expedition. 30 of these have been shortlisted for the next stage, click here to view the shortlisted candidates.

Due to an extremely high level of interest, applications for taking part in the expedition will close on Saturday 14th April 2012.

THE TEAM

The expedition will consist of 15 climbers from the five UK emergency services; Police, Fire, Ambulance, RNLI/Coastguard and Mountain Rescue. There will also be a professional guide, support staff, sherpas and porters.

Due to the high level of response from staff, a short list of potential team members was produced which is shown in the table below. These potential team members will undergo an interview, medical and practical assessment at the end of May 2012 and the team of 15 will be chosen shortly after.
